New anti-reflective coatings, such as Crizal, are one example of exciting new products which enhance both the optics of the lens as well as the cosmetic appearance. Crizal anti-reflective lenses are also much more scratch-resistant than other brands.

Transitions lenses that darken in the sunlight are also very popular and newer technology has improved the darkening and lightening quality of these lenses.

When people enter their forties, a need for near correction develops. A wonderful product known as the “progressive lens” is now available, in which the top portion holds the distance prescription and the bottom consists of the reading area. Varilux brand lenses are most often our first recommendation for progressive lenses as they offer the finest optics available in this design.
